There are two main methods for making PVC: calcium carbide method and ethylene method.
The calcium carbide method is a chemical reaction method that uses calcium carbide (calcium carbide) to generate acetylene when it meets with water, synthesize acetylene and hydrogen chloride to produce vinyl chloride monomer, and then polymerize vinyl chloride to produce polyvinyl chloride. The ethylene method is to extract ethylene from petroleum, allow chlorine to react with ethylene to produce vinyl chloride monomer, which is polymerized to produce polyvinyl chloride resin.
